Fedor Emelianenko vs. Tim Sylvia July 19th

                  

Saturday July 19th marks the day between two major heavyweight entities, that will collide in the ring at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Fedor Emelianenko who is widely recognized as the #1 fighter in the heavyweight division and last reigning Pride heavyweight champion will take on former two time UFC Heavyweight Champion Tim Sylvia in what will be an epic battle for the ages. These 2 will headline a stacked card for Affliction's first mma fight card appropriately entitled "Banned."

Fans and mma experts have criticized both fighters. You have Fedor being criticized for not fighting a top 10 heavyweight since Shockwave 2006. And you have Tim Sylvia being highly criticized for losing to current UFC interim champ Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, and taking a 5 round beating from UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture who had come out of retirement after a loss to Chuck Liddell.

But come July 19th both fighters will come to silence the critics once and for all, and treat us to a mma masterpiece. I think we will see the best from both fighters, because they both have something to prove. Fedor can hold on to his legacy as being the #1 fighter if he defeats Tim. A win for Tim Sylvia would put him back into title contention, and add to his own legacy with a win over such a high caliber opponent.
